The only paradise is paradise lost

These images are from a photobook of images compiled from wandering about my ‘homeground’ of Wairarapa over a single weekend in February 2020. The project was initiated by a group of photographers I work with called the ACEs as a tribute to the late Harvey Benge. Harvey was an inspiring advocate for the photobook as a form, and a lively speaker and tutor at numerous workshops and conferences throughout New Zealand. When I saw these images emerge as a series, it was as if Harvey had guided them to me, or me to them - who knows?
